1 week in a 300-year-old home in Auvergne (France)

Beautiful, authentic 300-year-old holiday home in the Drôme Provençale, located in the remote village of Brette (between Lyon and Marseille). The village has just 40 permanent residents and lies at the end of a paved road, at an altitude of 700 meters. Below, you’ll find the valley of the Brette River, while higher up (via a dirt path), the summit of La Servelle rises to 1,600 meters. Majestic mountains and rugged nature surround the area.

From the house, hiking trails lead down into the valley. The Brette River offers natural swimming spots and waterfalls.

Both inside and outside the house, there are many steps. One of the terraces is unfenced, and due to the steep terrain, we do not consider the house safe for children under six. The house has one large bedroom with a 1.40 x 2.00 m bed and an adjoining room (cave) with a bunk bed for four children.

The cozy living room features a wood stove/air conditioning and natural stone walls. There are two terraces, a Nespresso machine, a bread maker, and a well-equipped kitchen.

The surrounding area boasts picturesque villages with weekly markets and charming restaurants.

Nights with 100,000,000 stars.
